Apple IPhone 15 Pro Garners Lowest User Ratings of Any Premium iPhone Model in History

The Apple iPhone 15 Pro, released just one month ago, has received the worst user ratings of any premium iPhone model to date. According to a report by PerfectRec, which analyzed over 690,000 user-generated reviews online, the iPhone 15 Pro scored five stars in only 73% of reviews. This is a significant decline from the iPhone 14 Pro 76% and the iPhone 13 Pro 84%.

The drop in 5-star reviews for the iPhone 15 Pro is particularly notable compared to the non-Pro models of the same generation. Last year's basic iPhone 14 scored five stars in 76% of reviews (a drop from the iPhone 13's 80%), but this year's non-Pro iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus have experienced an uptick in user satisfaction, indicating that Apple's efforts are resonating more with baseline models.

While the iPhone 15 Pro does bring some notable improvements to the table, such as a titanium body, a boost to 8GB of RAM, the shift to USB-C charging and data transfer, and the new 3nm A17 Pro SoC, early complaints about overheating from iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max users may have played a role in the lower 5-star ratings. Even though Apple addressed this issue with the iOS 17.0.3 update, the ratings continue to plummet.

It is still too early to say whether the iPhone 15 Pro will be a commercial success. However, the low user ratings suggest that Apple may have some work to do to win back the hearts and minds of consumers.
